Southern Illinois Residents Invited to FEMA Updated Flood Maps – Open House Meetings January 2023

Especially if your property is currently mapped within a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), currently have flood insurance, are in the building industry as a realtor, lender, insurance agent, or are simply not sure and would like to learn more about your updated flood maps.

Some buildings may be included for the first time! Check your property by reviewing the preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM).

Preliminary FIRM updates will will determine, in part, if you must buy flood insurance for your property in a high-risk flood area.
