In an effort to shed some light on what being a green building professional means and encourage new entrants into the industry, the Engagement & Outreach Committee at Missouri Gateway Green Building Council launched “I am a Green Building Professional” campaign to share our members’ unique stories and what being a green building professional means to them. As part of the campaign, we’ve asked members to share what they do, how it relates to green buildings, and how they got into the field.
We’ve compiled all the testimonials collected so far on our Get Involved page (scroll to the bottom). We thought we could highlight a few each week in the coming months – starting with members of our Engagement & Outreach Committee!
I am the owner of RBLD. We are architectural lighting designers. Our designs reduce a building’s energy use because we put the right amount of light in the right places and we design control systems to turn lights off when not needed. We also design for environmental factors like minimizing light trespass and light pollution. What I do has a huge impact on the way people experience space . . . and I’m a green building professional.
