We kicked off 2023 with our new name, website and logo – the culmination of an amazing collective effort by the MGGBC team and our volunteer members! We are excited to carry this creative momentum into 2024 with a contest to design fab new swag that celebrates our new brand and embodies the spirit of our new tagline “Connecting people, places, and planet.”
The contest is open to everyone. Participants can submit up to 3 designs.
Strut Your Creative Stuff! Grab some green, blue and gray markers (or mouse, if you prefer digital doodling) and unleash that amazing creativity for a good cause!
The winning design will be selected by our Engagement & Outreach Committee and announced at our State of the Council event on January 29th. The winner will receive bragging rights, a free T-Shirt with their design, and a $50 gift card to a Green Dining Alliance restaurant + publicity on our website and via social media!
All designs must be original creations of the contestant and incorporate the required design components outlined below, encompassing the Missouri Gateway Green Building Council brand (i.e. colors, fonts, logos). Submissions must not have been previously published and must not contain profanity, trademarks, other organization’s logos, or any copyrighted works of any other person or business.
Design(s) must be: (1) Uploaded via the T-Shirt Design Contest Submission Form by 11:00pm (CST) on January 8, 2024. (2) Submissions can be produced by hand or digitally.
Contest winner agrees to submit a high-resolution layered vector art file within 7 days of notification and work with the MGGBC team if slight changes/modifications are necessary for production. If the selected submission is hand drawn, the contest winner agrees to work with the MGGBC team to create and approve a vector file of their design. If not, an alternate winner may be chosen.
By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to all contest rules. By submitting an entry, you agree that if your design is selected, you grant Missouri Gateway Green Building Council the use of your design, free of charge, for any and all printing and promotional purposes. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com.
The winning design will be placed on the front of a white T-shirt. When you register, you will receive a confirmation email with a downloadable design kit that includes digital versions of the brand logos and graphics.
Submitted designs must adhere to the required design components below:
Design Location: The primary design should be on the front, but you have the option of incorporating a second location on the left sleeve, right sleeve, or back.
Theme: Designs should celebrate our new branding and seek to capture the spirit of our tagline “Connecting people, places, and planet.” Some other text options you can consider: People, Places, and Planet for . . . (fill in the blank i.e. a healthier future) / #PeoplePlacesPlanet / Buildings as Climate Solutions / Build Your Knowledge︱Build Your Network︱Build Your Community.
MGGBC Logo: Designs must include at least one element of the MGGBC brand – either the organization name, tagline, logos or graphics. If you incorporate the logo, please use one of the official logo formats included in the design kit.
Colors: Design can use up to three (3) of the following official brand colors.
Typefaces: Our official brand and logo uses the Gotham font family formats below – Gotham Bold, Gotham Medium, Gotham Book – if you have access to it, you are encouraged to use it for any text in your design! If you do not have digital access or are submitting a hand drawn design, do not worry! Any text that is part of the winning design will be updated to Gotham by our team in consultation with the winner.
Submission Format: Submissions can be produced by hand or digitally. Designs can be submitted as a PDF or image (.jpeg or .png). You can submit up to 3 files. The individual file size limit cannot exceed 100mb. If you prefer to draw by hand, you can use one of the T-Shirt Templates provided in the design kit that will be emailed to you upon registration. You will need to scan or take a clear photo of your design for submission.
Recommend Design Software: If you feel comfortable using design software to create your design, we recommend using either Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, or CorelDRAW to create your design as a print-ready vector file (PDF). The submission format will not impact the selection process, but submitting print-ready files will streamline the production process for the winning design.
