Coffee Break – Equitable Energy Mixed Income Community Initiative

HOT TOPIC: This month’s Coffee Break will provide an introduction to Cabanne District CDC’s Equitable Energy Mixed Income Community Initiative (EEMICI). EEMICI engages a wide array of audiences to work together toward strategies that promote low-energy mixed-income communities as places where people can live, work, play and age, and where the energy burden levels are low to none. Mixed income communities are critical to achieving neighborhood equity and rejuvenating economy and quality of life.
FEATURED SPEAKER: Justin Idleburg, Principal CEO of Cabanne District Community Development CorporationJustin Idleburg is the Executive Director of Cabanne District Community Development Corporation. Justin works with governmental leaders, grassroots leaders, faith-based rural/urban communities. He educates with guidance in the areas of health equity, equitable community development, and equitable electrification, in order to empower community members in understanding the impact of an applied racial equity lens in correcting inequitable outcomes. To create an opportunity for all to thrive, Justin coaches communities to increase their capacity around policy analysis, coalition-building, strategic partnerships, legislative advocacy, and organizational development.
Justin holds volunteer leadership positions with organizations such as Delmar DivINe, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), The National Conference for Community and Justice of Metropolitan St. Louis, St. Louis Regional Health Commission, NAACP St. Louis County, Creative Reaction Lab, Forward through Ferguson, United Nations Association of St. Louis, The Magic House @MADE, Empower Missouri, Missouri Energy Efficiency For All, the Sustainable Development Committee for the St. Louis Promise Zone, and Delmar Digital Equity Network.
Justin is a proud graduate of Charles Sumner High School and has continued his education through the University of Missouri-Columbia, the University of Missouri-St. Louis’s Neighborhood Leadership Fellowship, Washington University’s Brown School of Social Work and Urban Land Institute’s Real Estate Diversity Initiative.
